| What exactly is your opinion on Atheism, and the whole religion ideal as a whole? I'll input my thoughts once I get feedback. :]
Is Atheism bad? Is it wrong? Is Religion bad? What's the purpose of it?

| Although it is hard to prove that there is a supernatural being such as God, shouldn't it be unreasonable to close off all views to Religion? Atheism, as far as I know, is complete disbelief in an actual Religion. I think becoming Agnostic is better as it supports both parties.
Religion is a (supposedly) good system. Of course, like any political system, it is corrupt at least a little bit. At the time, the Church dominated and it was the Pope who decided pretty much everything. The reasons I'm uncertain of why everybody believed in that propaganda but the pressure the Church put upon the civilization was immense. Religion is just an old system of dominance. That is all.
In my opinion, Religion is also politics.

| It's true that many view Agnostics better than Atheists, because of their higher probability to be "converted."
Religion, in my mind is official, but it is also one of the main causes of death in our world. How many medium-large scale wars have been in existence without the 'cause of religion or involvement? People who believe they are doing holy things by harming the "heretic/nonbeliever" are still "sinning" in a sense. Both sides think they're doing what's right- but then what? Without war there cannot be peace, and without peace there cannot be war.

| Im athiest myself and since the day i said that, ive been non-stop insulted by religios people. This has caused me to hate religious people and thus make my Athiesism stronger. But Athiests never did anything wrong but people still judge them. | |

| Like I said. Religion = Politics.
Religion is just that old dictator who you can't harm and makes you think you're doing the right thing. Alas, I have nothing against religious people.
Why not the same for atheism? Atheism is also corrupt. By doing so you're asking to be hated. If I went and insulted your good ol' girlfriend, wouldn't you try to defend her?

| Meh, the only real friends I have are my girl friend, and I'm not really phased by insults.
Anyway- A few Atheists were just atheists because of their beliefs, not because they hate god or Jesus (Who does in fact exist.) This is how I am, all though I have been through the same ridicule as Blaze, I've even had those people that lead the churches walk up to me and question me several times on WHY I am how I am. They're so damn annoying and want to convert me so bad they're willing to force me to come to church. There goes my free will.

| Didnt say Jesus did exist, and his name aint Jesus, its Yusuf Benjamen and he was born on the 7th of Januaray, most Christians dont know that and thus cant call themselves hardcore Christians, for an Athiest i know alot more then most Christians do about there own religion. Also, last time some Christian kid came up to me and insulted me over being an Athiest i gave him a nosebleed, the rest shut the fuck up. | |

| Although this is kinda' off topic, you gave him a nose bleed did ya'? (Reference to anime/manga.) Interesting. >.>
Meh, I don't think there is much to debate about anymore- WAIT! What about y'alls opinion on 2012?
I believe its complete bull, why would the world suddenly die? Science says we've got a long way to go before we're officially screwed.

I do believe I'd be cool to live to see 2012, and when nothing happens, laugh your ass off on the frustrated religious people trying to find explanations to how the world didn't die... Well, society keeps evolving, and it'd be so damn cruel to say you're gonna die. I have to say that people who claim to have spiritual powers can have excuses of not doing the right prediction, while tricksters and magicians cannot.

| You're stealing my habit. (Meh)
I was thinking the exact same thing, just sit there and laugh. =P But the fact that they're saying we're all gonna' die shouldn't be that bothersome- unless they were told it was going to slow, and extremely painful. Glad I'm an Atheist.
The messengers of God? Hah, those people are funny, and I love how they claim a lot of stuff. All I've seen them do is preach, so I've no idea about seeing the "spiritual powers" thing.

| Erhm...I have something to say about Atheism/Religion topic...
I think religious people are too close minded. They think they're right, they think they believe in the good things... They even come to think that what they believe in really does exist.
But, have you ever asked yourself why are you believing in God? I am an Atheist, cuz I keep asking myself if my way to think is correct, I keep changing my mind...Cuz I know I need to rework my way to see things... The problem of Religious people is that they're not asking themselves enough questions... God created the Universe? have you ever asked yourself HOW he created it? How did he create himself? Does God really have a human body? In my belief, creating such a complicated and gigantic universe is out of the capabilities of a single being. And when the Universe didnt exist, there was no time...so How did he managed to create it if there was no motion?
We, the living beings, think that the perfection IS a living being (God)... But have you ever thought that you "God" was only a phenomenom? Maybe your God is just a big explosion called "the Big Bang" or something that we didnt manage to imagine yet?
That's why I'm an Atheist... Because the Gods have been invented by people who wanted to have glory or couldnt make a barrier between their imagination and the reality. Jesus might have existed, but God didnt...
That was my opinion...All the stuff I just wrote is from me, not a TV show or an Internet article...

| It is hard to prove that an all-powerful supernatural being called God exists. Maybe God don't exist, but some kind of other being does.
It is also pretty hard to imagine how life started by its own. In my opinion, the Big Bang is baloney. I see how the people are starting to rebel. They do not trust the smart people in white lab coats anymore. So why do you believe either is right? You have no proof of God, and you're willfully refusing the scientists' theory.
I'm just saying that, as a person, it is unwise to reject anything.

| I'm not rejecting scientists, I'm rejecting God since we can prove he doesnt exist | |

| ...But deep inside you know that what scientists say is baloney. I mean--they created most of the things they're trying to prevent. | |
